What we do

The team at Ability Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic is a group of experienced physiotherapists who provide a wide range of treatment to patients visiting our clinics.

Our physiotherapists will conduct a comprehensive assessment taking into account your current capacity, medical history, lifestyle, any sporting activities and provide a custom tailored approach on the path ahead. We will educate you about what’s going on in your body and get you on board with our treatment plan to achieve best possible outcome.

“From aches and pains to surgical rehabilitation we do it all”

Most of us spend long hours sitting by the office desk, at times driving in peak traffic resulting in unavoidable extended static postures which are often responsible for neck and shoulder pain. Chances are you have already experienced neck and shoulder pain that left you in agony. Whether it be a sharp neck pain, dull muscular aches, headache or any inability to fully move your head.
The good news: we can help!

Back pain can be one of the most debilitating types of pain to experience. Whether you have recently injured your back or need assistance in finding the appropriate exercises to regain mobility and reduce pain for an existing condition, we will find the best solution for you. Over the years we have earned the reputation of successfully treating numerous acute cases of back pain which were strongly advised surgical treatment elsewhere.

As we age, so our ability to move freely can easily diminish. This can be caused by health problems or by specific injury or post-surgery. The personalised care at Ability help alleviate pain, improve mobility and even restore fitness in older people. We promote the independence of our elderly patients by using evidence based exercise protocols tailored to each individual.

At the recreational level there is an increasing participation of women in sports and exercise and they are rightly viewed as a unique population with their own motivations and barriers to participation. Physiologically, biomechanically and psychologically the “exercising female” has specific needs in terms of exercise and nutrition. We at Ability, use the latest research in the domain of exercise and fitness to help our exercising female patients reach their goals injury free.

We also have a role to play in the health and fitness of pregnant women. Pregnancy is a life-transforming experience with a myriad of physical, hormonal and emotional changes. After giving birth, the body has to recover from both the changes it made during pregnancy and from the effects of delivery. It is within the scope of practice of a physiotherapist to assess, treat and educate pregnant women in effective and safe exercises that have been shown to decrease back pain, pelvic pain and urinary incontinence – throughout their pregnancy and post-partum that would lead to a healthier and easier pregnancy and delivery.

Injuries are part of enjoying sporting activities, but they don’t have to take you out of the game for good. Whether it is recovering from an arthroscopic sports specific surgery or non-surgical rehabilitation we are the experts you need. We are the centre of choice for numerous international and national sports person across entire north India region. The spectrum of sports injuries is an exhaustive list, however certain common sports injuries that we have successfully treated in thousands of patients are:

Our team can assist in injury management as well as working alongside your coach to trouble shoot other problem areas such as poor neuromuscular control & injury prevention screenings.

Damage to your central nervous system, including your brain and spinal cord, means that the messages from your brain are not reaching the affected parts of your body. This can result in loss of movement and sensation, uncoordinated movement, weak and floppy muscles, spasm and tremor.
At Ability, our Neurological Physiotherapy services are able to kick-start the message pathways that your brain is struggling to use, to make new pathways through repetitive actions and exercises. Many of our patients who undergo Neurological Physiotherapy can improve symptoms such as, difficulties with loss of balance, loss of hand and arm, or leg and foot function, walking, spasticity and pain.

Common neurological conditions include:

  • Functional Neurological Disorders
  • Stroke, CVA or TIA
  • Spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Parkinson’s disease

If you are homebound due to neurological issues, old age or post-surgery we will provide you personalized physiotherapy at your home when you need it.

We care, We always Care, This is our passion.

We as physiotherapists are extensively trained in clinical diagnosis, exercise prescription & manual therapy which means we are “hands on” with our patients. This includes providing accurate dosimetry of exercises and using numerous joint mobilization and myofascial release techniques. Our clinics are well equipped with essential exercise therapy tools viz therabands, swiss balls, balance boards etc.
To complement our manual skills we sometimes make use of different modalities to reduce pain and inflammation including hot packs, ice packs, TENS, E-stim, ultrasound and laser treatment. We are skilled in evaluating your ongoing fitness programming and can help you align it to a specific milestone for example a half marathon.
